2011
With many years of professional experience in the packaging industry as well as in the decorative market, Stanley Dekker decided to start his own company. Under the company name of DBL Trading, our focus was mainly on packaging material. Later on, decorative items were also added to the range.
2013
It soon became clear that our passion really lies with decoration and therefore it was decided to stop with selling packaging material. DBL Trading was transformed to Dekker Decoration B.V. with full focus on the purchase and sale of decorative items within Europe.
2014
Instead of doing business with only European companies, we traveled to China in search for new production partners. There we found a reliable factory, and the import of our very first sea container with decorative items was a fact. Nowadays we have over 25 different production locations.
2015
The development of unique collections became a priority. The first product of our own design was a full color printed zinc pot in various modern prints, which was produced at a soda can factory!
2016
Our warehouse in Nieuw-Vennep soon had insufficient storage capacity, so we moved to a considerable larger warehouse in Lisse, in the flower bulbs region of The Netherlands.
2017
We gradually developed our own style. And in instead of only supplying florists, garden centers and wholesalers, full sea containers were now increasingly delivered directly to planters and growers.
2019
Due to the continued increase in turnover, there was again a shortage of capacity in our warehouse and a new move to our current building in Noordwijkerhout became reality. We did not leave the flower bulb area, it is still within walking distance of ‘Keukenhof’.
2020
One of the world’s largest containerships is blocking the Suez Canal. Factories go into lockdown and sea freight rates increases tenfold. An extremely challenging and tensive time, but by continuously listening carefully to our customers and consequently informing them about the latest developments, and at the same time thinking over creative solutions, we have been able to minimize emerging problems mainly caused by the delay of booked containers.
2022
In October 2022 we will launch a new corporate identity with an upgraded logo, which is more in line with our young and innovative image.
2023
From 2023 we will also serve our customers through the webshop. Our development challenge is: easy, clear and complete. We hope the result will be a very accessible webshop.
